Summer Heat

Is it hot in here or what? I'm telling you, where I live, it's smokin' hot. The humidity drags us down. You don't breathe in air here, you suck in steam. Luckily,
our Fourth of July brought us a day with relatively low humidity. So, it didn't seem
too bad.

August is generally the hottest month in the south. Yep, we've got a ways to go and the heat has just begun. I have always hated summer. I love fall and spring. I can even deal with winter, but summer keeps me inside cause I hate the heat. Which means I've never tanned very well.

Oh I've done the whole tanning bed thing and if you've got to have a tan, it's definitely the way to go. I can't stand lying under the sun and sweating. Twenty minutes a day in a tanning bed with SOME sweating will give you much better results. This year I didn't bother to tan, which I am now regretting, of course. Knew I'd live to be pissed off about it.

Anyway, looks like I am heading down to Myrtle Beach soon for a few days of R and R. Yeah, right. I don't know about everyone else, but if I take a week off, it means the first two days are spent trying to get used to just relaxing, then the last two days are spent feeling anxious about going home. I always figure I get about three days rest out of seven.

One of these days I'm going to take a month long vacation.

In the meantime, has anyone noticed that in the summer books seem to get hotter? I've noticed my writing is getting hotter. Not having a bit of trouble writing all the sex in this book I'm submitting very soon. Sex, sex, sex. Now that's my kind of
hot.

Smooches to everyone. I hope you're having a great summer!

My writing is down this past month. I'm finding other things to do and I guess that is good but I have to get back on the ball with all of these submission calls coming out. Have fun on your vacay!!
