I've long enjoyed fairy tales mainly because they're so horrific. Disney whitewashed fairy tales to the point that their truly terrifying nature is lost. When parents who have never read some of these tales decide to pick up a book of Grimm's fairy tales for their little ones, the lack of knowledge can be amusing. I recall one mom whose daughter adored Disney's "The Little Mermaid", so she decided to buy a book of fairy tales with that one in it so her daughter could enjoy the original. I warned her how the fairy tale differed so greatly from the sweet little movie. As in the mermaid dies in the end. As in when she gains legs her feet feel pain as if knives and needles were stuck in her soles.
Remember that the Wicked Queen tried to kill Snow White three times. First came the smothering corset and the poisoned hair comb. Then came the apple. Don't forget how the Wicked Queen dies in the end when Snow makes her dance in hot metal shoes held over a fire.
You don't mess with fairy tales.
It's rather popular now to sex up classic fairy tales with erotic content. I'm doing just that to two tales. My upcoming novella "Climbing Her Tower" is an erotic retelling of Rapunzel. My other upcoming novella "Trouble In Thigh High Boots" is an erotic retelling of Puss In Boots. I already have written a short story version of Puss In Boots called "Purr". That tale tells only a portion of the fairy tale. "Trouble In Thigh High Boots" covers the whole thing. Look for these two books to come out in late September, early October. I'm trying to time them to be released about the time the second season of the TV series "Once Upon A Time" airs.
Here are the two covers for my erotic fairy tales. Look for updates about my progress on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/elizabethablack.
